Support BL

The Fund for Bishop Lynch

The Fund for Bishop Lynch is the cornerstone of all fundraising at our school, the most important priority for ensuring that each student will reach their fullest potential as they hear and answer God’s call for their lives.

Your support of The Fund for Bishop Lynch makes it possible for every student to have access to exceptional opportunities which excite their interests, challenge their thinking, and uncover ways to give back to the community around them.

Tish and I give to The Fund for Bishop Lynch because of the incredible opportunities that BL has provided me, my siblings and our children. We believe that through The Fund, we can help provide additional support to current and future friars while furthering BL's catholic mission of educating difference makers in the world.

Frequently Asked Questions

List of 5 frequently asked questions.

  • Q. How are annual fund dollars used?

Virtually no part of the school is untouched by your annual fund gift. Program development, faculty salaries, counseling, field trips, class retreats, intersession, financial aid, library resources, science equipment, art supplies, drama and music productions, on-campus speakers, up-to-date technology, athletic equipment and much more rely on annual giving. Because the school uses your annual fund gifts in so many ways, it is most helpful to give an unrestricted gift which allows us the flexibility to meet immediate needs and take advantage of opportunities as they arise. We will always steward your gift to its highest and best use for the school.
  • Q. Are there other funding sources outside the school community?

Yes, and this is where your participation speaks volumes. One of the first questions asked by outside donors and foundations is what percentage of our current parents participates in the annual fund. Achieving as close to 100% participation as we possibly can is one of the most powerful metrics we can report. All sizes of gifts carry the same weight in terms of participation and we are proud of the economic diversity our wide range of gifts represents. We cannot achieve 100% without a gift from every family.
  • Q. What size gift should I make and when should I make it?

Each year Bishop Lynch relies upon the generosity of parents, alumni, grandparents and friends to support our mission in the form of an annual fund gift. We are proud to have a diverse population at BL, and therefore the gifts we receive range widely in size. We simply ask that all families stand together by participating at a level that feels appropriate.
  • Q. May I pay via installments?

Absolutely! You may make a gift and pledge your installment dates on the website allowing us to charge your credit card on the specified dates; or you may make a pledge on your remittance envelope, enclose what you would like to give now, and tell us how and when you plan to make additional installments, all by June 30, 2021 (within our current fiscal year). You also may call the Annual Fund Office to discuss arrangements for your gift with Jim Urbanus at (214) 324-3607 ext. 4128
  • Q. What are matching gifts?

Matching gifts are fantastic ways to stretch your Bishop Lynch Annual Fund gift to twice (and sometimes thrice). Some call it “free money.” Many companies support their employees’ giving by matching, and sometimes doubling, their gifts. Many businesses want to support their employees in their philanthropic efforts. In many cases, they just need to be asked. Please look into this valuable way of increasing the impact of your gift!

If your company is eligible, request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it completed and signed with your gift. We will do the rest. The impact of your gift to this organization may be doubled or possibly tripled! Some companies match gifts made by retirees and/or spouses.
