HOUSE COUNCIL | SCHOOL WIDE LEADERSHIP

  • SCHOOL CAPTAIN

    School Captains represent the school and student body at school-wide events throughout the year; set the goals of the House Council, supervise House Council officers; coordinate school-wide service opportunities; help to ensure the effectiveness of student government; other duties as assigned by the House System Director(s).

    School Captain = Senior Female, Senior Male

  • SCHOOL VICE-CAPTAIN

    School Vice-Captains represent the school and student body at school-wide events throughout the year; set the goals of the House Council, supervise House Council officers; coordinate school-wide service opportunities; help to ensure the effectiveness of student government; other duties as assigned by the House System Director(s).


    School Vice-Captain = Senior Female, Senior Male
  • HOUSE COUNCIL

    Operations Coordinator
    Takes attendance, keeps minutes at meeting; keeps inventory of council possessions; creates and maintains schedule for all activities. Is in charge of maintaining fund-raising schedules for the current year; and to carry out other duties as assigned. (Senior or Junior)

    Historian
    Historian Maintains a visual/media record of school activities in conjunction with House and Class Historians and in consultation with the yearbook moderator. Senior Historian leads committee of Historians to create meaningful documentation of school events. (Senior)

    Communications Coordinator
    Ensures that activities of the House Council are communicated effectively to the student body, faculty and staff through means set forth by the School Captains and school administration and communications department.  (Senior or Junior)

    Student Engagement Coordinator
    Works with School Captains, House Directors and House Deans to develop school-wide competitions. Maintains a record of points scored by each house in pursuit of the Dominican Cup. Works with the Communications Director to ensure that scores are reported and publicized to entire school community. (Senior)
  • HOUSE CLASS REPRESENTATIVES

    Elected two from each class from each House totaling:
    16 Seniors
    16 Juniors
    16 Sophomores
    16 Freshmen

    Class reps act in the same capacity as class reps under Student Council. House Representatives advise the House Council and work on House Council initiatives.

  • HOUSE CAPTAIN

    House Captains lead the House students in coordination with the House Deans to achieve house goals that include the formation of students and in the planning and implementation of various activities. (Senior)
  • HOUSE VICE-CAPTAIN

    House Vice-Captains work in partnership with House Captain and House Dean to achieve house goals. (Junior)
  • HOUSE COUNCIL

    House Chaplain
    Plans and coordinates house prayer and worship celebrations and spiritual activities. May participate in and facilitate student Peer Ministry Program (in development) in conjunction with House Dean and House System Directors. Coordinate, along with House Captain and Dean, House service projects. (Senior or Junior)

     Duties and Job Functions may differ upon the discretion of House Dean

    House Historian
    Keeps a visual/media record of House activities in conjunction with House Deans and School Historian and in consultation with the yearbook moderator and mentor group leaders. (Any grade level)

    Student Engagement Coordinator
    Works with House Deans to coordinate student efforts within the House to earn points toward Dominican Cup. Works closely with House Dean, Captains, and Mentor Group Leaders to effectively communicate strategies and goals. Works with School Competition Captain to develop competitions. 9Senior or Junior)

     Duties and Job Functions may differ upon the discretion of House Dean

    Class Representatives
    Class reps act in the same capacity as class reps under Student Council. House Representatives advise the House Council and work on House Council initiatives. (2 from each grade level)

  • MENTOR GROUP LEADERSHIP

    Mentor Group Captain
    Duties of Mentor Group Level officers as assigned by Mentor Teacher and House Deans. (Any grade level)

    Mentor Group Chaplain
    Duties of Mentor Group Level officers as assigned by Mentor Teacher and House Deans. (Any grade level - rotates quarterly)

    Six Mentor Groups in each house.
