MARCH TO THE BEAT OF THE FRIARS’ DRUM

The rhythm of football games and pep rallies at Bishop Lynch High School resonates through campus thanks to the Friar band. Our marching band plays at each football game and pep rally to motivate our team and fans, but also participates in competitions and concerts for our community.

If you’re a prospective student, we hope you consider becoming a member of our dynamic band program. The Color Guard is an integral component of the band and available to female students wishing to be included in an award-winning performance team here at Bishop Lynch.

There are many exciting things happening inside the Bishop Lynch Band Program. From the marching band to concert band, jazz band to the beginner’s band class … there’s a place for you in the Bishop Lynch Friar Band!

Andrew Balettie

Bio
Andrew Balettie came to Bishop Lynch in 2017 and serves as the Director of Bands. Prior to joining the faculty at Bishop Lynch, Andrew served as the Associate Director of Bands at Frisco High School in Frisco, TX. Ensembles under Andrew’s direction have consistently earned “Sweepstakes” awards and superior ratings at festivals, and gained national recognition through the Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors program. They have achieved the highest levels of marching success and have been named Grand Champion twice at the Little Elm Classic on the Lake Marching Festival.

Andrew graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education. At UNT, he performed with the UNT Concert Band, the UNT Symphonic Band, the Green Brigade Marching Band, the Phi Tau Chorale, Phi Tau Winds, the UNT Secondary Band and the L.A.M.E. Saxophone Quartet. Andrew is an active performer and adjudicator in the state of Texas, playing in the Dallas Christian Jazz Band and judging on the USBands circuit.

Andrew and his wife Liz are the parents of Cole and Madi, and two dogs, Lucy and Mia.
