Congratulations to Bishop Lynch Senior Coleman Gieselman, one of the newest Friar Eagle Scouts. Coleman, who competes on the Bishop Lynch wrestling and track teams, received the rank of Eagle Scout at his Court of Honor ceremony on May 4, 2024.
On his Trail to Eagle, Coleman earned 31 merit badges and held numerous leadership roles within his troop, including chaplain's aide and crew leader for the high adventure, the 60-mile paddle, and Swampbase. He has participated in troop campouts and service projects, and his favorite scouting experiences include exploring the U.S.S. Lexington and the Boy Scouts of America National High Adventure Bases.
Coleman's scouting journey began with St. Ann Catholic Church's Cub Scout pack, and he eventually joined Troop 845 in Coppell. For his Eagle Scout project, Coleman led a team of volunteers in rehabilitating the playground at Angel Creek Preschool at St. Ann's in the summer of 2023. The project included the demolition of deteriorating equipment, installing a new stage platform, and building new sandboxes for the preschoolers. With the remaining funds raised for the project, Coleman and his volunteers hosted a popsicle party for the preschool students to celebrate the new playground equipment.
Through his Eagle Scout journey, Coleman has embodied the Dominican pillars of community and service. Congratulations, Coleman- you make our Friar family proud!
