Podcast Highlights Bishop Lynch Commitment to Belonging in the Classroom

Assistant Principal for Academics Rachele Piazza was featured on the most recent Connected Classrooms podcast, offering insight into Bishop Lynch High School's implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as part of the school's commitment to student belonging.

Within the UDL framework at Bishop Lynch, all learners participate in meaningful and challenging learning experiences through multiple ways of engaging with course material and representing their knowledge.

Bishop Lynch worked closely with the Greeley Center for Catholic Education at Loyola University Chicago, home of podcast host Endowed Chair Dr. Kaitlin Reichart, in establishing UDL as the framework for teaching and learning across all content areas.

“[On our campus,] the foundation of UDL is belonging,” commented Mrs. Piazza during the interview. “It all circles back to the core belief that belonging is essential to learning.”
