Maisie Swift Soars with Appointment to Air Force Academy

Senior Maisie Swift was pleasantly surprised earlier this week by a phone call from Congressman Colin Allred. After completing a rigorous application process which included securing a nomination from Rep. Allred, Swift stands among a top-tier group of approximately 1,400 young people who have earned an appointment to the prestigious United States Air Force Academy.

“We’re immensely proud of Maisie for all the work she’s put into the application and the physical training required to compete with such an elite group of applicants,” shared Maisie’s parents, Lisa and Spencer Swift.

The application process to military academies is unlike that of traditional colleges or universities. To be selected, applicants must meet academic and physical requirements after receiving a nomination from their congressional representative or the vice president.

“I’m so grateful for this opportunity, and so excited to see where it takes me,” Swift said this week.
