With just three weeks until we conclude the semester and begin Christmas break, campus is coming alive with joyful anticipation of the birth of Christ and fun holiday celebrations. Thanks to the BLPA, our halls are decked, and our beautiful Christmas tree is greeting visitors in the Welcome Center. Throughout these weeks of Advent and Christmas preparation, our community is invited to participate in several activities, projects, and events.
Toy Drive benefitting WFAA Santa’s Helpers begins tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 1 and runs through Dec. 14! Bring a new, unwrapped toy to the Christmas tree in the Atrium to help make the holiday bright for children in need.
First Friday Rosary is tomorrow, Dec. 1. All in our BL community are invited to join in for prayer and breakfast beginning with Mass in the chapel at 7:30 a.m. Click here to RSVP.
Beginning next week and continuing beyond the Advent season, Father Mark will be offering Confession in the sacristy on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. until he begins preparing for the 8:30 a.m. Mass. All are welcome! Also beginning again next week, the Precious Blood will be offered in addition to the Sacred Hosts during Communion at all weekday Masses.
Pictures with Santa will be outside of Student Formation during all lunches Dec. 5-8! Stop by to have your photo taken with Kris Kringle himself.
Donuts with the Dominicans is back for Advent! The Dominican brothers will be in the atrium on Wednesday, December 6 from 7:45-10:30 a.m. All are welcome in the morning before classes to decorate cookies, play a Guess the Friar game with the Dominican novices, and offer intentions of hopeful anticipation at an Advent prayer station.
The Fine Arts Department invites you to get in the Christmas spirit with several upcoming performances! The McGonigle Theatre will be bursting with talent and holiday cheer. BL Band Christmas Concert is on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 7:00 p.m. with the St. Patrick Middle School Band performing at 6:30 p.m., the Dance Recital is on Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:00 p.m., and the Choir Christmas Concert is on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 7:00 p.m. Bring your ID to receive House Points for all performances!
All School Mass for the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception is on Friday, Dec. 8. Students should be in proper Mass attire.
The BL Friar Choir will hold their annual Community Caroling on Monday, Dec. 11 visiting the George W. Bush Presidential Library, Notre Dame School of Dallas, and more.
Christmas Sweater Day will be on Thursday, Dec. 14 and students can wear a fun holiday sweater with uniform bottoms. Christmas Pajama Day is on Friday, Dec. 15 and is a full dress-down day. Be sure to review the handbook for dress down guidelines.
