Hope Squad Members Learn About Mental Health

Bishop Lynch High School Hope Squad members engaged in a day of learning and empowerment at the 4th Annual Texas-Sized Hope Conference this week.

Hosted by leading North Texas mental health nonprofits, the conference brought together 2,000 students, educators, and volunteers from youth peer-to-peer mental wellness support teams like Hope Squad at the Dr. Marcelo Cavazos Center for Visual & Performing Arts in Arlington. This year’s theme, “Let Hope Rise,” focused on peer leadership and empathy in suicide prevention. Friars experienced a powerful keynote address from national youth mental health advocate Emma Benoit, breakout sessions for discussion and deeper learning, and activities designed to build connection and resilience.

Hope Squad members are integral to creating Bishop Lynch’s environment of belonging that allows students to thrive. Thank you to these dedicated students for furthering your formation in peer support and mental health advocacy!
