Friars Compete in Yale Bulldog Invitational Tournament

This past weekend, the Bishop Lynch High School Mock Trial Team traveled to Yale University to compete in the Yale Bulldog Invitational Tournament, facing off against 31 teams from across the country.

Led by team captains Marley Bennett, Gisselle Rodriguez, and Lucy Ciarochi, the team of 17—10 new members and seven returning members—competed in four rounds against top-tier teams. A standout moment came when senior Madison Malouf was honored with the Outstanding Witness Award for her performance as a witness for the defense, receiving the award for the second year in a row.

"This dedicated, enthusiastic, passionate, and focused group of Friars showed grace under pressure and a work ethic that all other Friars should emulate," shared Dr. Burau, who chaperoned the trip along with Mrs. Labus, Mr. Sharp, and Coach González.

The team now looks ahead to their next challenge at the Dallas Bar Association competition in February, where the BL community is encouraged to show their support. Stay tuned for more details, and don't miss the chance to cheer on these talented Friars! Follow the team on Instagram.
