Friar Missionaries Spread Love in Belize

Friar Missionaries Spread Love in Belize

Spring break was more than just a vacation for Bishop Lynch students who spent their week on mission in Punta Gorda, Belize. Accompanied by Nurse Barton, Ms. Fierro, and Fr. Mark, the student missionaries shared meals and made lasting memories with students at San Jose Catholic School where they completed repairs on the campus. Friars also had the opportunity to gather with local high school students for a game of soccer followed by a meal and great conversation.

“Our hearts are so full with the love and joy of the sweet students at San Jose,” said students Alaina Oommen and Isabelle Escobar. “Though we are so sad to leave, we know a piece of our hearts will remain with these sweet kids forever and we are so grateful that we had the chance to make their dream of a newly painted school come true.”

Inspired by the Dominican pillar of service, Bishop Lynch students share the Gospel with neighbors at home and abroad through local projects and international mission! If you are interested in serving on a future mission trip, contact Coordinator for Student Formation Maritza Fierro.
