The Friar family filled the Anatole on Saturday evening for more than just the fabulous live auction items and an exhilarating performance from Emerald City. In donning their best black & white attire and dancing shoes, Legacy Gala attendees had a singular focus- to raise needed funds for student scholarships.
Legacy looks to the future, and in honoring those who have nurtured BL’s 60-year Dominican heritage of scholarship and service, Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale ’69 offered a toast to the impact Bishop Lynch will continue to have on students for generations to come. Following dinner, the evening heated up with a lively game of Heads or Tails. The live auction and appeal, along with the silent auction, raised over $460,000 for need-based and merit scholarships for BL students. Donations to student tuition assistance are still being accepted.
Special thanks to the event co-chairs, Kristen & Greg Norton and Carrie & Joe Bevers, the alumni co-chairs, Kathy Hemmi ’73 & Matt ’73 Nevitt, and all committee members for their tremendous dedication to making the event a success.
