Last Thursday, Bishop Lynch High School was honored to welcome the president and CEO of the National Catholic Education Agency (NCEA), Dr. Steven F. Cheeseman, as part of his “Bright Lights in Catholic Education National Tour.” Dr. Cheeseman, who has led the NCEA since August 2024, launched the initiative to showcase schools across the country carrying out the mission of Catholic education in inspiring and innovative ways.
“Catholic schools have long been beacons of hope, service and academic excellence. For generations, they have nurtured young minds, built strong communities and instilled the values of faith, integrity and service,” shares Dr. Cheeseman in the initiative’s opening letter. “Yet, in today’s complex and rapidly changing world, it is more important than ever to tell the story of Catholic education in a way that honors our legacy and envisions our future.”
While on campus, Dr. Cheeseman and NCEA Vice President of Content and Program Development Laura MacDonald toured the campus and met with administrators before sitting down with House Captains for a discussion about the House System and the role of community on campus. He also had the opportunity to address the BL TAPPS Academic Team fresh off their state championship win.
