Band Wins Top Prize in First Competition

The Friar Band brought home a first-place trophy in their first contest of the season at The Showdown at Standridge Marching Band Competition on Tuesday. Students won the top prize in their class, performing their halftime show, Pure Imagination: A Winter’s Dream, under the direction of Director Karla Hayden and Assistant Director Coby Jackson.

“I am so proud of our students for earning first place in Tuesday’s contest,” said Mrs. Hayden. “The growth they’ve shown since the very first rehearsal to where they are now is remarkable, and it’s a true reflection of their hard work and commitment."

The band looks forward to bringing the same talent and enthusiasm to the Celina Invitational Marching Band Competition on Saturday, Oct. 11. Stay tuned for performance times so you can support our Friars!
