Welcome to another exciting year at Bishop Lynch filled with potential, growth, and opportunity. As I reflect on 25 years of service to Catholic schools as a teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, dean of students, and now as president, I am humbled by the trust that I have been afforded by parents to walk alongside them on their journey to help their children find their path of promise and purpose. A driving force behind my purpose is the power of challenge and invitation to inspire others to build communities that are rooted in belonging. I believe that we are better together and thus we embark on this journey of a new school year in just that way.
With 250 new freshmen families and nearly 50 transfer families, almost 30% of our community has accepted a very important invitation to walk with us and build community relationships. In September of 1963, the first families gathered here on Ferguson Road to accept the invitation to launch this community and now 60 years later we see the enduring impact of what communities can do if they embrace the challenge to walk together on this journey. I am often moved at this commitment to faithfulness, caring, and dedication as our school’s purpose is demonstrated in a concise statement offer recently by an alumnus of the class of 2000:
“At Bishop Lynch, we believe in people and challenge them to grow because we love them.”
And so we begin again on this journey of the “BL Way.” I encourage you as parents to engage with our school community, participate in events, and take advantage of the resources and care we offer to ensure a successful and enriching year for your student. Together, we can create an atmosphere that fosters growth, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose.
Thank you for entrusting us with the education and formation of your children. I am excited to witness the accomplishments that this year will bring and the positive impact that our students will undoubtedly have on our world as they embrace Truth for Mission.
As we gather this year for the 60th Anniversary of our school, I am filled with gratitude for your continued commitment to our school's mission as we live out what it means to be a BL Friar in 2023.
Peace, Blessings & GO FRIARS!!!
