We are excited to welcome Monica Austin, MBA into a newly appointed role of Director of Alumni and Donor Relations. Monica has over 20 years of non-profit experience in Dallas, TX, both as a development professional and as a non-profit board member. Monica has most recently been a member of the Bishop Lynch Advancement Team as the Director of Volunteer Management and Events managing a fundraising and volunteer team of over 100 people with an annual fundraising goal of over $575,000 for scholarships and tuition assistance. Since 2010, she has focused on education, raising funds for need-based scholarships benefitting students in the DFW Metroplex. She has worked on dozens of event fundraising projects for a variety of non-profit entities including but not limited to Bishop Lynch, the Diocese of Dallas, the HALO Initiative Bishop’s Invitational Golf Tournament, and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School with excellent project management skills and attention to detail while aways looking for ways to innovate and improve processes.
Her most recent successes include: (1) growing the Bishop Lynch Legacy Gala for three consecutive years funding approximately 150 direct scholarships each year and increasing net proceeds by over 75%, (2) facilitating the Bishop’s Invitational Golf Tournament for five years held at the Four Seasons in Las Colinas benefitting at risk students, while improving donor giving over 38%, (3) managing a team of 100 volunteers at the Diocese of Dallas responsible for raising over $650,000 annually for need-based scholarships, totaling $3.2 million over 5 years.
With a prior background of 8 years in Human Resource database implementations, she is experienced in a variety of database systems to analyze and maintain data. Monica holds a BA in Management from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Dallas.
As we enter into the 60th anniversary of Bishop Lynch, we look forward to many opportunities all of our alumni will have to meet Monica and welcome her to this new role.
