Bishop Lynch High School invites all moms of prospective students to our annual Moms' Tea and Tour this Thursday, Nov. 15 in the Bishop Lynch Bistro. Join us at 9 a.m. to enjoy breakfast and beverages as you gain insight into the BL high school experience from our administration and in-the-know Friar moms. You will also be given a guided tour of the campus to learn more about our academics and facilities.

Arts

Students at Bishop Lynch have a wide range of opportunities to pursue their creative passions through our outstanding Fine Arts programs. From dance to photography, choir to sculpture, our students find a multitude of ways to express themselves. The guidance of our highly acclaimed faculty helps inspire students to bravely embrace their talents and share them with the world.
 
BL students compete in many artistic areas, winning numerous awards and accolades throughout the academic and artistic communities. Students who wish to pursue a career in fine arts have the opportunity to develop an impressive portfolio to showcase their developing talent, providing an excellent foundation for their future endeavors.

  • BL A Cappella Choir to Perform in Barcelona

    Bishop Lynch’s A Cappella Choir has accepted an invitation from the Archdiocese of Barcelona, Spain, to perform in cathedrals and basilicas around the city March 7-14 as part of its “Sacred Music in Sacred Spaces” initiative. New this year, JV Choir members are invited to attend the trip. Planning is underway for the spring performance/pilgrimage and fundraising efforts will once again include poinsettia sales to run from August through November.  
     
    In other choir news, Bishop Lynch students got to know the names and faces that belong to those beautiful voices at the choir’s annual Meet and Greet event this past Saturday. Choir students and parents, the Choir Booster Board and Choir Director Kathy Leos were all on hand to kick off the new year.

  • BL Choir Earns Top Honors

    Congratulations to the Bishop Lynch Choirs who recently competed in the Big D Classic Choral Festival at JJ Pearce High School. Five choirs competed and four were awarded a Division 1 Superior Trophy. The Men's Ensemble earned Division 2 Excellent honors. In addition, Senior Ryan Cavasso was recognized as Top Male Soloist.

  • Art department prides itself on its policy of inclusion

    The Blackfriars Guild prides itself on its policy of inclusion; students from all interests are encouraged to audition for or serve on the crew of our productions. We are especially proud of our current musical cast and crew members who have recently earned recognition:
    1. Cole Garcia - Football player who signed with Rice University
    2. Lily Booth - Colorguard member who helped earned the team a first-place finish in the NTCA Novice Class
    3. Chris Dunn and Zach Hogue - Members of the Mock Trial team that won the Region 10 Contest and are on their way to State
    4. Ailish Tierney - Swimmer who qualified for the State Competition
    5. Presley Luce - Powerlifter who earned First Place in his weight class at the Sunnyvale Powerlifting Meet
    6. Jada Nwigwe - Powerlifter who earned Second Place in her weight class at the Sunnyvale Powerlifting Meet.
