GLOBAL EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES

You already know your Bishop Lynch education will take you far. But did you know it can literally take you far?

Get ready to rack up some frequent flier miles for fun, learning and service. Bishop Lynch High School offers the following global education opportunities for students to expand their horizons:

Mission Trips
Each summer, 10 rising seniors from Bishop Lynch join other Catholic high school students throughout the DFW metroplex to give back to Latin American communities in need. From digging ditches and mixing cement to painting churches and preparing tamales, students have made a difference in Honduras, Nicaragua and most recently Costa Rica. The 10-day mission combines service, prayer and fellowship into one unforgettable international experience.

Bishop Lynch also has spring break mission trips (previously Costa Rica and Ecuador) where freshman through senior students have the chance to share their faith and positively impact communities in need.

Spring Break Getaways
Make a break for it and join Bishop Lynch on an international adventure each spring. These weeklong trips let students learn about a country's customs, culture and history during their stay in exciting locales. Recent destinations have included Costa Rica, Cuba, France, Peru, and Spain. And an in-depth tour of Greece is planned for March 2019! Trips are organized through the American Council for International Studies and Bright Light Volunteers.

Foreign Language Class Immersion
What better way to enhance your foreign language studies than to immerse yourself in that country's culture and interact with native speakers? Organized through FORUM Student Travel, recent summer trips have included Spanish immersion in Malaga, Spain, and a German class trip to Munich.

Choir Abroad
Bishop Lynch's team of vocalists annually showcases their talent before an international audience. Last year, the BL choir traveled to Rome, Italy, and had the distinct honor of singing at the Vatican for the Epiphany mass. The A Cappella Choir has accepted an invitation from the Archdiocese of Barcelona, Spain, to perform in concert in cathedrals and basilicas around the city in March 2019.
