  • Sculpture and Spanish Students Create Day of the Dead Exhibit

    What do you get when Mr. Corey Johnson’s sculpture classes team up with Ms. Maria Rodriguez’s upper level Spanish classes? You get an amazing Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) themed art and ofrendas exhibition! There will be six community ofrendas and anyone in the Bishop Lynch community can take part by bringing a photocopied picture of a departed loved one to place on the displays. The show will kick off with an opening ceremony featuring food, music and fun from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 in the atrium. Be sure to stop by the atrium during the exhibition’s Oct. 24-Nov. 12 run.

  • BL Student Competes in National Entrepreneurship Challenge

    Congratulations to BL Junior Anne Johnston. This past summer, Anne participated in the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship’s (NFTE) BizCamp at Seagoville High School in Dallas and teamed up with another student to create a business idea called Seat Buddy. Their product is a portable climate-control chair that can be brought to stadiums or open fields for concerts. Anne and her partner were the first place winners at BizCamp, and they earned the opportunity to compete at this month’s National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge in New York City. Congrats Anne!
