BL’s Inaugural Esports Season Yields Big Results

The first-ever Esports teams at Bishop Lynch High School competed in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) fall season. Teams competed in League of Legends, Rocket League and Smash Brothers and performed extremely well in their inaugural season.League of Legends went undefeated 19-0 and the team was named the TAPPS Fall State Champions. Smash Ultimate was also named TAPPS Fall State Champions in their division. Rocket League placed eighth.Clayton Nester teaches in the business department, and he is the Esports moderator. He credits these dedicated students and video game enthusiasts with initiating an Esports team at Bishop Lynch that regularly practiced and played in the school library.“These students were a joy to watch compete in their leagues.
