Cast and Crew of Antigone Win Big at District

Congratulations to Bishop Lynch’s TAPPS One Act Play Antigone for taking third place at the district competition this past weekend with a powerful performance. This creative and beautiful interpretation of the Greek tragedy incorporated Greek-style masks as well as the appearance of a virtual actor in a truly updated and current version of the play.

There were also some big acting and technical awards won by the cast and crew of Antigone.

All Star Technical Crew went to Gretchen Schultz.

All Star Cast Awards went to Kathryn Bell, Lorenzo Curran, Sarah Hendry, and Lucia Colindres for their acting in the play. Lucia, who appeared virtually, may be the first actor ever to win this acting award with a virtual appearance!

Honorable Mention All Star Cast Awards went to Marcella Jaques and Jessi Ruby.

Every student in this production took home awards. It was a great weekend for the Bishop Lynch Blackfriars’ Theater Department. A very big congratulations to the cast, crew, designers, and directors of Antigone. And a very big thanks to the parents, friends, families, and classmates who came out to watch, support and cheer on the play at home and at district.
