Virtual Auditions

We know our Bishop Lynch High School students have talent - lots of talent! Now it's time to showcase that talent by submitting a virtual audition to be a part of the Blackfriars' fall and spring plays as either an actor or on the tech theatre side.

The virtual audition is an easy five-step process. Learn more below.

Audition for your shot in the spotlight (or to be the one directing the spotlight) today through June 30.

Audition Steps:

Here’s what you do:
  1. Go to this very good website https://couloncasting.com/actors/taping-instructions/ and watch the video on self-taping. It is only about 5 minutes long. Follow the directions given on this webpage for self-taping.

  2. Select a monologue of about 1 to 1:30 minutes. Memorize it.

  3. Self-Tape and put the following in this order:

    • Start with the SLATE. This is where you Video yourself from the waist up and say, "Name, Height, and what school you are coming from"
    • Then begin your MONOLOGUE: No introduction or explanation needed. Just the character name and the play or film you are taking it from. Video the monologue at the “two button mark,” without a lot of head space above your head. Include just one take, your best!!

  4. Upload your audition to your BL OneDrive.

  5. Share with Directors!
and Robert.Clark@Bishoplynch.org.
We will view your work, and Mr. Athas will offer feedback and direction.

We look forward to seeing you! If you have any questions, please email John.Athas@bishoplynch.org.

THAT’S IT! BREAK A LEG!!
