House System Kicks Off New Semester with Prayer Rally
Give me a P-R-A-Y-E-R! The Bishop Lynch House System kicked off the new semester with a prayer rally for all houses today in the Competition Gym. The rally was organized by the student House Council and the eight house chaplains.
Information was shared about each house’s patron saint or blessed, the various types of prayer (supplication, thanksgiving, meditative, etc.) were covered and then each house chaplain led a special prayer.
Since the house system’s third-quarter theme is prayer, the rally was the perfect launch for upcoming mentor group activities.
Special thanks to the following house chaplains for their leadership and example:
Isabel Aldrete, Angelico
Mallory Jennings, Aquinas
Jake Reid, De Porres
Sarah Leonard, Frassati
Alan Armenta, Lima
Elissa Dryden, Montfort
Etoile Iboni, Ricci
Gerardo Martinez, Siena
Blessed Fra Angelico, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Martin de Porres, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, St. Rose of Lima, St. Louis de Montfort, St. Catherine de Ricci, and St. Catherine of Siena … pray for us.
Implementing a house system at Bishop Lynch High School was a big, bold move to improve pastoral care, mentorship and student leadership opportunities. Now that the BL House System is underway, it’s time to check in on the progress and hear from deans, mentors, student leaders, and students.
This weekly series provides a glimpse into all the ways – big and small – that students, and even staffulty, are being positively affected by the new BL House System. It will also address plans for growth and refinement during year one.
Faithful to Catholic Tradition and to our Dominican heritage of scholarship and service, Bishop Lynch High School promotes the development of the total person by bringing together a diverse community in a rigorous, college preparatory environment where students are taught to strive for excellence, seek truth, and work for justice in the world. - Founded in 1963
