Distinguished Alumni of the Year Celebration
Since 1990 the Bishop Lynch Alumni Association has recognized those graduates who have embodied the Bishop Lynch tradition and Dominican heritage of service to the community. The Distinguished Alumni of the Year should show a commitment to the school and its missions and should serve as a model to all of what Christ has called us to become.

ROMAN PLUGGE JR. ‘75

Please join us in congratulating Roman Plugge Jr. ‘75 as our 2025 Alumni of the Year Recipient!
Roman Plugge Jr. ‘75, a professional civil engineer, was employed at Halff Associates in Dallas for 37 years where he served as chief operating officer prior to his retirement in 2021. A native of Dallas, Roman attended St. Patrick Catholic School and Bishop Lynch High School prior to earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
Roman and his wife Sharon of 40 years have raised four children—Stephanie ‘06, RC ‘08, Andrew ‘10, and Ryan ’13—all of whom followed in their father’s footsteps from St. Patrick to Bishop Lynch and on to Texas A&M. Roman became active in the Bishop Lynch Alumni Association 20 years ago, and he has served as a director on the Bishop Lynch Board for 11 years and as the board chair for two years.
