  • Friar for a Day

We invite eighth graders and transfer students to shadow current students during the fall and spring semesters. To set up a shadow day, register online via Ravenna (see "Applying to Bishop Lynch" page for instructions).  The student will be matched with a current student according to interests and will spend most of the day (8:00 am - 3:00 pm) with that student and attend classes with them.  Please include your student's name and interests in your email or when you submit the form online. This is a great opportunity to see what it's like to be a student at Bishop Lynch! Important notes about shadowing:
    • Where do I check in? — Enter at west end of campus, facing Peavy Road, the Welcome Center is at the recptionist station .
    • What do I wear? — If you currently attend a private school, please wear your current school uniform to Bishop Lynch that day. If you attend public school, please do not wear jeans, shorts, short dresses/skirts, low cut shirts or tank tops.
    • What time should I arrive? — Please arrive by 8:00 am (unless otherwise noted) and check in at the front receptionist desk.
    • What do I do about lunch?  -- Since you are our guest, we will provide lunch for you!
    • When should I get picked up? -- Students can be picked up at 3:00 pm in the Admissions Office if a parent is picking up. This will allow parents time to arrive and leave campus before the regular school day ends. If you ride the bus to Bishop Lynch, you will stay until the end of the school day (3:42 pm) and we will make sure you get to the bus after school.
    • Who can I shadow? -- There are two options.
      1. You can choose who you would like to shadow or
      2. We can choose a person for you to shadow. We generally will match you with a student with similar interests (basketball, band, choir, etc.) If you choose the person you want to shadow, we will just need to confirm with that student's teachers that it is ok for them to host a shadow.
