Guidance & College Counseling

Summary of our Program

In keeping with our mission of promoting “the development of the total person by bringing together a diverse community in a rigorous, college preparatory environment,” Bishop Lynch High School provides a comprehensive college planning and preparation program beginning with Freshman Orientation, and continuing until students graduate from BLHS and matriculate to their college of choice.

From day one of their BLHS experience, incoming freshman students and their families become part of a team of teachers, counselors, and a college advisor who will work collaboratively to provide them with the guidance and support they need to successfully pursue acceptance to the college/university of their dreams and ambitions.

Success after BL

One hundred percent of Bishop Lynch graduates attend institutes of higher learning thanks to the excellent college-preparatory services offered by the Bishop Lynch Guidance Department. In fact, the most recent graduating Class of 2018 earned $22.89 million academic, athletic, fine arts, leadership and military scholarships! Do you want to be accepted by the prestigious college of your choice and earn scholarship dollars to help offset your tuition? At Bishop Lynch, you will.

Bishop Lynch has one of the largest advanced placement, dual enrollment and honors programs in the region.

In fact, more students earn college credit at Bishop Lynch than at any other school in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

And that translates into big savings on college tuition and a great head start on your child’s college career! For instance, BL students earned 4,396 college credit hours during the 2017-18 school year.

That’s a potential college savings of approximately $2.6 million!
