STUDENT LIFE HEADLINES

Student Spotlight Story - Girl Scout Gold Award, Sydney Stansbury

A number of Bishop Lynch High School Girl Scouts from Troops 1562, 2432 and 1433 have been working extremely hard on their Gold Award projects. Each week, we will cast the spotlight on one of these stellar young ladies and recognize them for their incredible effort by letting them tell their story.

“My Possibilities is a school in Plano for adults with cognitive disabilities where they can further improve their knowledge and experience by learning cooking and job skills and participate in visual/performing arts and athletics. One goal for the school is to help the HIPsters (Hugely Important People) learn basic life skills so they could hopefully live on their own or in a group setting. My project benefitted the culinary program of the school. I created a visual recipe book with pictures of the ingredients and tools needed to make simple recipes. Also included is a step-by-step easy to follow recipe guide. These visual recipes are used daily in the classroom to teach simple cooking skills to the HIPsters.”
