Bill Persinger

Coach Rene Ramirez - Head Freshman/Asst Wide Receivers

Entering his 11th year at Bishop Lynch, Rene Ramirez serves as the Head Freshman Coach. Rene helped coach the Friars to three state championships - 1997 and consecutive titles in 2002 and 2003. He was an assistant coach for the Friars Baseball Team for his first six years and helped guide them to a State Championship in 2002. Rene handles college recruiting and much of the public relations duties for the football program. Originally from Dallas, Rene attended Lake Highlands High School. He played baseball for the University of North Texas and earned a BA in Communications. In 1994, during the inaugural season of the Ballpark at Arlington, Rene worked in the Public Relations office of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club. He was recently named the Marketing Director for Bishop Lynch. Rene and his wife Suzanne live in East Dallas with their children Damon -8 and Samantha -6. They are parishioners of St. Thomas Aquinas.

 

 

Coach Clayton Nester - Wide Receivers

Clayton Nester is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University where he earned a degree in Business. Clayton is a 1984 graduate of BL, where he was a standout quarterback and catcher for the baseball team. Clayton was inducted into the Bishop Lynch Hall of Fame in 1996. He began his teaching career at BL in 1989, where he taught computers and coached football. He was the Head Baseball Coach from 1989-1997. During his time as an assistant on the football staff, he helped coach the Friars to five district titles and three state championships: ‘94, ‘95 and ‘97. He has spent the past six years at Lakeview Centennial High School. This year, Clayton teaches Computer Science and coaches the defensive ends. He also assists with the baseball program. Clayton and his wife Rose have been married for 17 years and are the parents of three daughters: Nikki, 17 - a Senior at BL; Ashlee, 15 - a Sophomore at BL and Taylor, 8 - who attends St. Pius X.

Coach Ben Dasch - Co-Defensive Coordinator

Ben Dasch, Bishop Lynch Class of 1995, comes back to our community to teach Environmental Science and coach the defensive backs for the Friars. He also manages the Friar’s strength and conditioning program. Ben played center and middle linebacker for head coach/athletic director, Bill Persinger from 1991-95. He attended the University of Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Micro Biology. This is Ben’s seventh year teaching/coaching. For the past five years, he has been teaching/coaching at Tuscaloosa Academy in Alabama where he taught middle school Life Science and Algebra. He served as the defensive coordinator from 2000-2001, and in the fall of ‘01 was promoted to Head Football Coach. During his tenure, the defense was +18 in turnover differential, ranking 2nd in the state of Alabama (AISA). In 2002 Ben guided Tuscaloosa Academy to its first playoff appearance in eight years. To earn that playoff spot, Tuscaloosa Academy beat their arch-rival, Pickens Academy 21-20 in overtime, for the first time in sixteen years to earn the final seed in the playoff bracket. Ben and his wife Whitney met in college and have been married for three years. They live in Dallas and are parishioners of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Terry LaPrade-Defensive Ends

Terry La Prade begins his first year at Bishop Lynch. Originally from Irving, he has been teaching and coaching in publlic schools for 15 years. At BL, he will teach stats, math models, and fundamentals of college algebra. He will also coach football and basketball. Terry received his BS from Stephen F. Austin in 1990 and his Masters in Math in 2005. He has been married to his wife Cynthia for 10 years, and he has three stepchildren.

Coach Jason Nester is a 1992 graduate of Bishop Lynch. He and his wife Suzy are the parents of Jay.

Trainer-Andrew Kubin

Andrew served as Head Athletic Trainer for NFL Europe Frankfurt Galaxy and won the 2006 World Bowl. Prior to that, he served as year-long athletic trainer intern with NFL Atlanta Falcons in 2005 and as a summer athletic trainer intern with NFL Arizona Cardinals in 2003. Kubin received a graduate degree from Marshall University in sports management and marketing. At Marshall he worked with football, women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer squads. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University in movement science/athletic training. While at TCU he worked with the football team, the men's and women's soccer squads and the baseball team. Andrew is a nationally certified athletic trainer and state certified athletic trainer in Texas and Georgia; also Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He was raised in Ennis, TX and graduated from Saint John High School. Engaged to fiancé Julie.
