Functional Pre-Participation Evaluation Research Study
We will be participating in the FPPE study out of Ohio State University again this school year. This research study is conducted in boys and girls basketball, boys and girls soccer, and football. We will conduct these screenings in the month of July and into the beginning of the school year. The FPPE is a simple movement screening that researchers are using to evaluate potential biomechanical flaws in athletes’ movement that may precipitate injury. This screening will take 15-20 minutes per athlete. We want to encourage all of our athletes in these sports to participate. More details will come out very soon. Learn more about the FPPE Project at Ohio State University at the following link: http://medicine.osu.edu/hrs/at/research/moves/pages/fppe-project.aspx

Bishop Lynch reaches broadcast agreement with Sportsgram
June 16, 2015 — The Bishop Lynch High School athletic department officially announced Monday it has partnered with Sportsgram Internet Sports Network to broadcast/stream Friar athletic events online during the 2015-2016 school year.
The agreement includes a 20-game schedule, including nine football games and 11 others from volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball. Post-season contests will be added to the broadcast schedule as they are announced.
Cliff Gibson, sports information director for Bishop Lynch High School, said this agreement puts the athletic department on a new level.
“With the quality of athletics we have here at Bishop Lynch, there’s no reason why we should not be able to offer our fans a way to see the games even if they can’t make it in person,” he said. “Our alumni stretch from coast to coast, and partnering with Sportsgram allows our teams to play in front of a national audience. A top-notch athletic department deserves a top-notch digital platform and Sportsgram gives us that.”
Each online event will be accessible via computer, tablet or smartphone, and will include high quality audio and video. The broadcast team will be made up of BLHS students, with direction from Gibson, who will serve as the official play-by-play voice for the Friars on Sportsgram.
“Our vision is to make this a student-driven project and give our talented students yet another avenue to flourish,” Gibson said. “We will be putting out a call for potential broadcast team members very soon. Football season will be here before you know it.”
Sportsgram partner and owner Steve Glenn said he is mutually excited about the pairing for the new school year.
“The Sportsgram Network is very excited about our new partnership with Bishop Lynch High School,” Glenn said. “We are looking forward to broadcasting a lot of wins and exciting games for the coaches, players, families and Friar fans.”
This new avenue also creates a unique opportunity for fans and alumni of Bishop Lynch athletics to show their support — through advertising.
“We will be looking for businesses and supporters to serve as sponsors for our broadcasts, and also give people a chance to be mentioned on the air during games,” Gibson said. “It’s a big marketing victory for us and a great opportunity for local businesses to get noticed, too.”
Sportsgram Internet Sports Network was founded to serve underserved high school and collegiate athletic programs with live gameday broadcasts. Harnessing the power of the Internet to broadcast events literally around the world, at a fraction of the cost of traditional radio, Sportsgram offers superior sound, ease of access, on demand listening and a high quality production to its partner schools and listeners.
