Driver's Education is offered two times a year at Bishop Lynch - once beginning the third week in January and again starting the first week in June. Classes are held for two hours each day for three weeks. The classroom phase consists of 32 hours, with an additional 14 hours of Behind the Wheel following the completion of the classroom phase. Students must also complete an additional 20 hours of documented driving time with their parents.
Behind the Wheel is offered during Spring Break and again during the summer. By state law, attendance is mandatory in order to receive a drivers license.
Students will need a Texas Map and Texas Department of Public Safety Driver's Handbook, which can be picked up at any DPS headquarters.
Payment for the course is due prior to the first scheduled class.
Please download the application and TEA form below. Read all information, sign and send back with check, money order or credit card information.
If a student does not show up for his/her scheduled driving time, a $25 fine will be assessed.
